A Comparison of Seismic Array Processing Schemes

چکیده
It is our purpose in this note to discuss three of the many approaches to seismic array processing from the theoretical point of view. The three are: 1) maximumlikelihood processing, 2) the minimum-variance, unbiased estimator (MVU) approach used by Levin, and 3) multichannel Wiener filtering. A feature common to these techniques is the formation of a single output waveform which serves as an estimator of the unknown signal coming from a fixed direction. We refer to such an output as a "beam." It will be shown that 1) reduces to 2) in the case of gaussian noise and known signal parameters (i. e. , known epicenter) and that 3) is related very simply to 2). In fact, the Wiener filtering output can be obtained directly from the MVU output. We treat both the sampled-data and continuous-time cases. The note contains no new results. Numerical Simulation of a Lead-Acid Battery Discharge Process using a Developed Framework on Graphic Processing Units
In the present work, a framework is developed for implementation of finite difference schemes on Graphic Processing Units (GPU). The framework is developed using the CUDA language and C++ template meta-programming techniques. The framework is also applicable for other numerical methods which can be represented similar to finite difference schemes such as finite volume methods on structured grid...
متن کاملJoint Bayesian Stochastic Inversion of Well Logs and Seismic Data for Volumetric Uncertainty Analysis
Here in, an application of a new seismic inversion algorithm in one of Iran’s oilfields is described. Stochastic (geostatistical) seismic inversion, as a complementary method to deterministic inversion, is perceived as contribution combination of geostatistics and seismic inversion algorithm. This method integrates information from different data sources with different scales, as prior informat...
متن کاملLossless Microarray Image Compression by Hardware Array Compactor
Microarray technology is a new and powerful tool for concurrent monitoring of large number of genes expressions. Each microarray experiment produces hundreds of images. Each digital image requires a large storage space. Hence, real-time processing of these images and transmission of them necessitates efficient and custom-made lossless compression schemes. In this paper, we offer a new archi...
متن کاملMultiple signal extraction by multiple interference attenuation in the presence of random noise in seismic array data
A vector of digital filters is derived for the multichannel processing of the signals acquired by an array of sensors with the objective of extracting multiple desired signals by the attenuation of multiple interferences and random noise. The signals and interferences are assumed to have arbitrary waveforms with no a priori knowledge of these waveforms. The time duration of the recorded array d...
متن کاملGPU Accelerated 2-D Staggered-grid Finite Difference Seismic Modelling
The staggered-grid finite difference (FD) method demands significantly computational capability and is inefficient for seismic wave modelling in 2-D viscoelastic media on a single PC. To improve computation speedup, a graphic processing units (GPUs) accelerated method was proposed, for modern GPUs have now become ubiquitous in desktop computers and offer an excellent cost-toperformance-ratio pa...
